Service Description

Oxfordshire Mind provides supported housing - Transitional Housing Recovery Service - in Oxford City, Cherwell, West and South Oxfordshire District Councils. The service is for persons who suffer severe and enduring mental ill health (clusters 4-17) and who are not able to live independently. The organisation has a total of 94 units of accommodation, with 48 located in the City. Accommodation is provided in various settings including large and small shared houses and self-contained flats.  The aims of the service are to:

  • Promote quality of life, independence and social inclusion
  • Achieve personal recovery and empowerment
  • Prevent homelessness and events leading to homelessness
  • Reduce admission to hospital and the likelihood of admission to hospital
  • Improve physical health and well-being for people with mental health issues

Oxfordshire Mind is part of the Oxford Mental Health Partnership

Key functions & activities offered

  • Support provided promotes recovery with the aim of helping people move to independent accommodation within 2 years.
  • Staff available 9am to 5pm
  • On-call service out of hours for emergencies.
  • Staff offices are located in 9 of the accommodation projects across Oxfordshire
